Native to the mountains of Central America, the Chamaedorea elegans, aka Parlor Palm, is an easy-breezy palm that's on our favorite list. There's something about the Parlor Palm that makes me want to grab my favorite sunnies and head to the coast. Nashville would be so much better if only it had a beach. A gal can dream!

Sans beach? No problem. Snag a Parlor Palm to get that SoCal vibe you've been craving.

Caring for a Parlor Palm:

This palm prefers temps between 50º - 80º and will thrive in medium light. It's an easy plant to care for and - bonus points - helps purify the air. As for watering, allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings and back off the water a bit in winter. From spring to fall, feed it fertilizer 1x a month. The Parlor Palm needs well aerated multipurpose potting soil and can be repotted every 2 - 3 years. Note that it's totally normal for fronds (stems) to die off from time to time.

Happy indoor planting!
